“There is nothing I enjoy more than having a brush in my hand, color on my palette, and canvas on my easel!” “ Painting the portrait is an exciting experience. Getting a good likeness of the subject is imperative. Learning the interests and personality of the person you are painting is helpful in deciding how best to depict the subject. Of all varieties of painting, the portrait is, I think, the most challenging.” Linda Ellen Price Paintings by Linda Ellen other than portraits, range from colorful street scenes, vibrant tropical creations, to figures in sepia, reflecting her vivid imagination and endless fascination with paint and color. She was the featured artist at the Huntsville Museum of Art Spring Gala 2003, Huntsville, Al., and recently exhibited in one woman shows at Loretta Goodwin Gallery in Birmingham, Al., and the Beverly McNeil Gallery in Destin, Fl. She is also represented by Bennett St. Gallery, Atlanta Ga., Windsors Gallery, Dania, FL., and Portrait Brokers of America, Mountain Brook, Al. She was invited to paint for "Hand and Paw" in 2008. She will be featured at the Bennett St Gallery, Atlanta, Ga in May 2008, reception May 16. Linda Ellen Price has been featured in Portico, Veranda, Southern Lady, Limelight, Southern Accents, Galleries and Artist of the South, and Women’s Exchange Profiles. She studied under Russian Artist Max Heldman. “The paintings by Linda Ellen Price capture charming moments filled with the lazy grace of a summer afternoon. The sketchy freedom of her brushwork incorporates the use of untouched canvas as tonal areas, increasing the sense of freedom and casual observation. There is a wispy romanticism that permeates all her work, a feeling that time is only precious if it is wasted effectively.” –James Nelson, Art Critic, The Birmingham News |
